The Keller Public Arts Board, partnering with the Keller Rotary Club, commissioned a monument sized sculpture to honor the patriotism and service of those who have served in our military. The Keller Rotary Club conducted fundraising events and secured sponsorships to complete the installation of the sculpture at the Keller Veterans Memorial Park at the intersection of Main Street (US 377) and Keller Parkway ( 1709)  The sculpture was unveiled at the park on Saturday, November 8, 2008. The ceremony officially dedicated the sculpture, "Protector of Freedom" by local sculptor Darrell Davis, and also recognized the names of Keller veterans added to the pillars at the memorial park.
